About Me
I’m Ted Shideler. I live in East-Central Indiana. By day, I’m, well… unemployed! Here’s my resume. I’m also a former board member at the Delaware County Historical Society and the old editor of the DCHS newsletter, The Society Quarterly. I also adminstrate the popular history-oriented Facebook group Lost Muncie.
By day and night, now, I work on this blog. Here, I mostly write about Indiana history. Occasionally, I get sidetracked by other things like old highways, tobacco pipes, and whatever else comes to mind.
I like to tell stories about things that strike my fancy. I’m a curious person, and I want to know more! I longed for a place to tell me about my interests, so I started researching, snapping photos, and writing to make one. I hope this blog becomes a repository of useful historical information, like I could have used before I went out and did all of that.
I invite my mom along on a lot of my research trips, and my brother comes with me too, sometimes. Besides that, I have two of the friendliest cats ever, Disco and Zulu.
This blog is my hobby, but I take it seriously. If you subscribe, you’ll find that my whims frequently change. I try my hardest to cite all my sources, and I post fresh content daily. Thanks for stopping by!
