I wouldn’t call Indiana a Mecca for thrill-seekers, but there was a time when the Hoosier State’s amusement park landscape was far different from what it is today. Near Angola, what began as a modest roadside attraction slowly transformed into the home of Indiana’s first looping roller coaster! Nearly nothing remains of Fun Spot today, but I’m going to try to tell its story. 

I’ve never really liked shooting in portrait mode. Because of that, almost every photo I feature here ends up in landscape. Unfortunately, when I dug up some thirteen-year-old Indiana Beach pictures from my old Droid X2, I was reminded that the phone shot everything in an aggressive 16:9 format. That exaggerated aspect ratio drives me nuts! Still, the photos themselves were too fun not to share. 

I’ve written about my favorite local restaurant, Juan’s Mexican Grill in Chesterfield, Indiana, before, but only to the extent of its status as an old Ben Franklin dime store. Now it’s time for a proper review. Spoiler alert: Juan’s is excellent! Mostly.
