Stoney Creek Township’s District 4 schoolhouse was originally associated with the Cedar Creek Friends Meeting. It originally stood on the west side of South County Road 1000-West.

John H. Bond deeded a portion of his land to the township in 18721, and new schoolhouse was built at the southwestern corner of Base Road and South County Road 950-West2. The building sat south of the Cedar Cemetery, just west of where a new meetinghouse would be built in 18813.
In 1898, officials built a new District 8 schoolhouse on Windsor Road that was large enough to absorb students from the Cedar Creek and Amburn schools. Cedar Creek was acquired by the local Farmers’ Mutual Benefit Association, which used it as a lodge hall4.
The 1898 District 4 schoolhouse closed upon the opening of the new Stoney Creek Township Consolidated School in 19165. It is no longer standing.
The Cedar Creek Friends Church was closed in 19756. Today, both the 1881 meetinghouse and the 1872 school are homes.
