I had twelve days off over Christmas and New Years’. With all that time to spare, I was hoping to make it to the southwestern part of the state to nab photos of more Long Line towers! Unfortunately, a couple things over the holidays -like Norovirus- derailed my plan. As it stands, I’m out of photos to share!
If memory serves, I’ve been to sixty-three Long Line sites and towers across Indiana so far. That leaves about forty more, and they’re all concentrated in and around the southwest and south-central parts of the state. I’m not sure when I’ll have time to make my next trip, but my plan is to head to the Bloomington area. I should find eight or nine more down there. I still like looking at photos of Long Line towers even if I’m not actively searching for them. To that end, here are five of my favorites:
Lena

Winamac

Culver

Cloverdale

Kouts

I hope this hiatus is short. Piecing together the stories of the towers that once linked our cities and towns has been a lot of fun, and I’d like to get back out and find some more sometime still this month. In the meantime, I’m still pulling information together about some of the central offices that linked the towers and I hope to have something published soon. Stay tuned!
