The first school near Farmland was originally Monroe Township’s District 9. It was built on Angling Road southwest of the town in 18561. The schoolhouse closed in 1869 when a newer building was completed in Farmland proper2.

Not much is known about the Connor schoolhouse that served District 1 of Monroe Township except that it was named after the Connor family which originally deeded its land.

Stony Creek Township’s District 9 schoolhouse was commonly known as Fodrea after the family who originally donated its land sometime around 18651. In 1874, it was situated on property owned by the heirs of Elisha Garrett in 18742, as it was in 18823.
